GUIDELINES
Classes:
Please understand if last minute changes to the timetable can take place due to class sizes. We reserve the right to alter class times, days or venues and to cancel any class at any time. This will be done with a note sent home to every student, if absent, a phone call will be made. All classes will be 45 minutes in duration, except for Show Team Classes, Examination Classes which are one hour and private lessons ranging from half an hour to an hour.
Class Viewing Week:
Classes are normally closed to spectators, however all classes are open for viewing by parents and friends on OPEN DAYS during the last week of terms 1, 2 & 3.
Concert:
2Step Dance will be having an end of year concert. All details regarding venue, prices and costumes will be given at a later date. Please let teachers know if your child will not be taking part in the concert so that routines may be organized.
The concert at the end of Term 4 is to wrap up what will be a great and exciting year. This is an opportunity for parents to see first hand what their children have been learning in class also for the children to obtain stage and performance experience. It will be a show full of costumes, lights, energy and fun.
Examinations:
Exams will be taken by those students who wish to take part every year. This will be in Ballet and Tap only. All classes will be learning exam work, but for those students participating, extra classes may be called closer to the exam time.
Fundraising:
2Step Dance hopes to have many fundraising events during the course of the year, it is hoped that many families will participate in these fun events to help support this new and exciting dance school. All profits made will be put back into the students and the running of the studio.
Parents:
Parents are not permitted to disrupt a class or rehearsal in progress. No parents are allowed in the studios in between classes. Parents are requested to sit in the waiting area. Children will come out to this area at the conclusion of their class for collection. Please do not approach teachers between classes, as it is another class’S allocated time. If you need to ask a question please send a note with your child, or call and leave a message and your call will be returned within 24 hours.
Personal Property:
NO responsibility will be taken for personal property. Lost Property will be held at the studio until the end of each term. All belongings must be clearly labeled with student’s full name.
Private Lessons:
If you wish for your child to have a private lesson, whether it is for a solo or duo, please call the office for details and for lesson times and prices. Eisteddfod students must book a regular time slot to keep up with rehearsals. This will be added to your tuition fees.
Punctuality:
Parents must be responsible for insuring your children arrive on time to ensure the efficient running of the timetable, and are collected on time, as teachers and staff are not always available to supervise late pickups.
Show Teams:
Show Team is for students to participate in many eisteddfods throughout the year, and promotional work, to promote both themselves and the studio. Participation in Show Team is by invitation or audition only by teachers and in some cases there may be an audition. Show Team members are asked to give the studio and there Team commitment and dedication so that every member can perform to their full potential and learn to dance as a team. To be eligible to perform in the show teams, students must participate in both a ballet and jazz class, to continually improve their technique, co-ordination and strength.
Tuition Fees:
Tuition fees are due in week 3 & 4 of each term. Fees paid after week 4 will be charged a 10% late fee. A fee will also be incurred for dishonored cheques. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable once paid. A 5% discount will be given to accounts paid on a termly base, on or before the due date. Fees must be put in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s full name, invoice number, amount enclosed and date.
Uniform:
It is compulsory for all students to wear the full studio uniform to each and every class. This includes arriving with the correct shoes and neat and tidy hair, preferably in a bun. More details regarding uniform will be given to you at a later date.
